My Meteor... I Mean, Mentor

To be perfectly and brutally honest, I try to do things on my own, so there really isn't a mentor [an experienced and trusted adviser/ an experienced person in a company, college, or school who trains and counsels new employees or students] in my situation. But, if I was being water-boarded and was forced to dub someone my mentor... it would be Mr. Engel, the Orchestra Director! He's the closest thing to trusted adviser I have (even though he occasionally yells at the cello section for being off tempo). Mr. Engle has been my (for all intents and purposes) mentor because he has taught me the importance of hard work. Think about that for a moment. Me. He taught me to work hard! knowing how lazy I still am, you should be nothing short of fearful over what I could have been without his guidance. Mr. Engle also taught me that practice doesn't make perfect, but it makes people think you are. for example, whilst playing cello in orchestra, i frequently show off just a teeny tiny bit. I'm not giving names but there are some people in that class who aren't great musicians. And if I practice Patchable Cannon really fast, they're all like "Holy Crayola, hes fast! he must be good!" And that makes me feel good, because they all think I'm perfect.
